Thank you for your letter of the 29th October. We think it is a good idea to bring Grimwood in to arrange the shipping and insuring of the pictures.

As regards the Sayer collection, what Grantham wrote to us is as follows:-

"I have asked Mr.Sloss......to negotiate on this Governments behalf with Messrs. Law and Sayer".

He also says that it is understood that Sayer is willing to accept an offer of £1,000 for his collection, but he does not say that final agreement has been reached. I think it might be as well, therefore, for you to write to Sayer and explain that that you are handling the matter for Hong Kong and ask him to let you know the position so far as he is concerned. His initials are G.R. and his address is 18, Hillside, Wimbledon, S.W.19.

One other small point. I do not know where you and Grimwood propose to store the pictures until they are ready for shipping, but, if it could be conveniently arranged, several
